HIGHER SCHOOL «TEXTILE AND FOOD ENGINEERING»
The Faculty of Light and Food Industry, established on August 29, 2008, had three graduates departments "Technology of textile materials and light industrial products", "Artistic decoration and design of light industrial products", "Technology of food production" and three serving departments "Physics", "Practical "Kazakh language" and "Physical education for technical specialties". Since September 2015, the Faculty of "Light and Food Industry" has been transformed into the Higher School of "Textile and Food Engineering", which consists of 4 graduate departments"Technology and design of textile materials", "Technology and design of light industrial products", "Technology and safety of food products", "Food engineering".
The founder of the Faculty of Light and Food Industry, cand.tech.sci., Professor Myrkhalykov Zhumakhan Ushkempiruly. He headed the faculty in 2008-2011. Between 2011 and 2015, cand.tech.sciAssociate Professor Baizhanova Sulushash Balabievna worked as the dean of the faculty. In 2015-2016, cand.tech.sci., Associate Professor Togataev Torebek Usenbekuly worked as the dean of the "Textile and Food Engineering" Higher School. In 2016-2019, PhD Doctor, Associate Professor Nurzhan Yerkebayuly Botabayev worked as dean. In 2019-2021, Kenzhibaeva Gulmira Sovetovna, cand.tech.sci. worked as dean. From 2021 to the present, the higher school is headed by cand.bio.sci., associate professor Yerkebayeva Saparkul Umirtaevna.
"Textile and Food Engineering" Higher School employs more than 60 professors, i.e. 1 doctor of science, 9 PhD doctors, 20 candidates of science and associate professors, and 30 masters and senior teachers. Under the program of attracting foreign scientists, Farah Salin Binti Taip, Ph.D., Department of Food Engineering and Processes, Putra University Malaysia, Mike Hardy, Ph.D., Smart Nano NI project worker, Kharkov Federal Research Institute of Information and Computing Technologies, Deputy Director of the Center, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Potapov Vladimir Alekseevich, Professor of the Latvian University of Natural Sciences Inga Ciprovicha, Deputy Director of the Kharkov Federal Research Center of Information and Computing Technologies, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Deputy director of the Kharkov Federal Research Center for Information and Computing Technologies, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Potapov Vladimir Alekseevich, Professor of the Latvian University of Natural Sciences Inga Tsiprovicha, Deputy Director of the Kharkov Federal Research Center for Information and Computing Technologies, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Yevlash V. Professor Elif Eser Eke from University Ege, Turkey,professor Rmadan Erdem from Akdeniz University,Turkey.conducts lectures, seminars and master classes for students.Scientists are invited.
"Textile and Food Engineering" Higher School carries out 21 educational programs: 11 bachelor's, 7 master's and 3 doctoral programs, including 4-EP provides education in a dual system.
More than 850 students, masters and doctoral students study at the higher school, including about 800 students who are recipients of state education grants. Students have the opportunity to study at the military department. Students who graduated from the military department will have the rank of reserve officers..
Academic mobility program is regularly implemented in the higher school. Currently, "Textile and Food Engineering" Higher School has agreements with 22 near and far foreign countries. Academic mobilityis implemented with agreementsof foreign higher education institutions:University of Padua (Italy), Latvian University of Natural Sciences and Technologies (Latvia), Krakow University of Agriculture (Poland), Kemerovo Institute of Food Industry Technology (Kemerovo), Kuban State Technological University, Kyrgyz State Technical University, Ivanovo Polytechnic University, Kharkiv State University of Food and Trade (Ukraine), Belarus State University of Technology (Belarus), Akdeniz University (Turkiye), Putra Malaysia University (Malaysia).
The research work of the higher school is carried out in accordance with the strategic and annual plans, and on the basis of 4 state grant-financed and economic contracts, the professors and teachers are conducting scientific research works in the amount of 867,832 million tenge.
The educational programs of the higher school are aimed at training highly qualified specialists who have business skills and ability to solve problems and tasks of industrial nature and are competitive in the market. The quality and demand for training of graduates are determined by the high level of their employability. Every year, the employment rate of graduates is high and they are in demand in the labor market.
It should be noted that educational-scientific-industrial complexes (ESICs) for joint training of personnel have been established in the bases of "Azala Sotton KZ" JSC, "Azala Textiline KZ" LLP, and "Baltextil" LLP under the educational programs of the higher school.
"BorteMilka" LLP, "Shabitex" LLP, "Baltextil" LLP, "Rahat Shymkent" LLP, "Barys-2007" LLP, "Shymkent May" LLP, etc. a dual training system has been established in production.
On the basis of the base of the ESICs, students are given a real opportunity to gain practical experience of professional activity. Thus, the content of subjects is centralized, which contributes to ensuring the quality of the educational program.
"Textile and Food Engineering" Higher School has close relations with large domestic and regional enterprises. In particular, "BorteMilka" LLP, "FoodMaster-Shymkent" LLP, "Karavai" LLP, "Balmuzdak" LLP, "Madlen-KZ" LLP, "Rahat Shymkent" LLP, "Barys 2007" LLP, "BalTextile" LLP, "Bal Decor" LLP, "Alem BT" LLP, "Special Gear Kazakhstan" LLP, "ALLIANCE" LLP, "Southern Bylgary" LLP, "Kholmurzaev" LLP, "Aktoty i K" LLP, LLP etc. are enterprises. High school graduates work in the following textile and food industries: "Gauhar" LLP, "Rahat-Shymkent" LLP, "Shymkentmai" LLP, "Fudmastar" LLP, "Shymkentsut" LLP, "NazarTextile" LLP, "Azalla Textile" LLP, "Azalla Sotton" LLP, "AGF" LLP, "Ak Altyn" LLP, "Shabi tex" LLP, "Dom mod" LLP, "Fiorentina" LLP, "Diyar Resto" LLP and others.
