     History of the Department

    Teaching staff of the department" food safety and technology": the Department was founded in 1963 under the name" refrigeration and compressor machines and installations " and trained specialists in this direction until 1995. Since 1995, specialists have been trained in the specialty 1102-technology and low temperature. In 1993, the following specialties of food production were accepted: 4204 - technology of fermentation production and winemaking, 4206 - technology of Canning and food concentrates. 2001. Admission to the specialty 554230 - Food Technology (Bachelor's degree) was carried out. In 2003, All food production specialties were merged.  These are 4206-technology of Fish and oil products; 4202 - technology of confectionery and sugary products; 4207 - technology of public catering products; 4201-technology of bread production and wheat processing. In 2001, the name of the department was changed to "food production technology and refrigeration engineering". Since 2004, bachelors have been trained in the following specialties: 050727-Food Technology and 050728-technology of processing production. Since September 2010, the department has been renamed "Food Technology".

    General information

         In 2015, the department was divided into two departments in order to prepare two specialties.  The first is" food engineering", and the second is " technology and safety of food products, that is, 5b050728 – technology of processing production and 5b050727-Food Technology.

          In recent years, the department has been steadily preparing a bachelor's degree in the specialty "technology of food products".The University of Kazakhstan occupies the 2nd place in the educational program and was awarded diplomas of II and III degrees in the specialty 5b072700-technology of food products at the Republican Olympiad of disciplines held between 2016 and 2021 among students of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

         Also,in the period from 2016 to 2021,our students at the Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan were awarded diplomas of II and III degrees at Republican competitions dedicated to student research work, and the authority of the department in education increased.

         Since 2006, the department has been teaching and training bachelors in Kazakh and Russian languages, as well as in English. Since 2012, the specialties" technology of food products "have been included in the program of experimental training" polity".

           In 2008, the specialty 050727 - food technology was accredited by the German company ASIIN.

       In 2019, the Department prepares Bachelor's degrees in educational programs 6B07241 - technology of fats and vegetable oils, and in 2020-6b07242-technology of milk and dairy products.

         In 2020, students were enrolled in the master's program in the educational programs 7M07243- "technology of food products" and 7M07240- "technology of milk and dairy products" at the Department.

        As a result of well-coordinated work at the department in 2021, educational programs for the training of bachelors were opened: 6b07245 - technology of meat and meat products and 6b07243-food technology and catering in small and medium-sized businesses.

        For the first time in the 2021-2022 academic year, 4 students were enrolled in the doctoral program 8D07240- "innovative technology of functional food production". For the 2022-2023 academic year, 6 students were enrolled.

          Since 2020, the department has been conducting laboratory and practical classes in the branch of the department at the dairy plant “Burte - milk” LLP within the framework of dual education of the ZHT-18-2p group under the educational program 6B07242 - technology of milk and dairy products. In the 2021-2022 academic year, it was accredited by ASIIN under the educational program 7M07240- "technology of milk and dairy products". In the 2022-2023 academic year, there is a branch of the Department "Shymkent oil" LLP on 6B07241 - "technology of fats and vegetable oils".

           Currently, the department employs 1 doctor of technical sciences,7 candidate of technical sciences, 5 MASTERS, 2 phD Doctors.

In 2022, the Senior Teacher of the Department zh.Zheleuova received a Ph. D. degree in the specialty 6d072700 - technology of food products.

      Research work

       Research is carried out at the Department" technology and safety of food products". The teaching staff participates in conferences, scientific methodological seminars.

     In the 2020-2021 academic year, teachers of the Department published 54 articles based on the results of research, including 4 articles in journals with an impact factor, 7 articles in Republican journals-3 in far abroad journals, 16 articles at international conferences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 19 articles at Republican and regional conferences.

         Shingisov A. U., Uzakov Ya.m., Zheleuova Zh.s., Baigabylov R. K. utility model Patent No. 5323 method of production of Cooked-Smoked Sausage enriched with plant extract, published on 28.08.2020 author's certificate received.

        By the order of the chairman of the committee for quality assurance in the field of Education and science of the Ministry of Education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 4, 2021 No. 86, the academic title of Associate Professor (Associate Professor) was awarded to Khamitova Barna Makhamatovna in the specialty 05.18.00 – att.

       By the order of the chairman of the committee for quality assurance in the field of Education and science of the Ministry of Education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 25, 2021 No. 288, the academic title of Associate Professor (Associate Professor) was awarded to Kaldybekova Zhanat Baizhanovna in the specialty 05.17.00 – Chemical Technology.

       In the 2020-2021 academic year, the teacher of the Department "technology and safety of food products", candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor M. zh. Abishev took part in the competition for program-targeted financing of scientific, scientific and technical programs for 2021-2023, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the priority direction "sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex and safety of agricultural products", specialty 5.  Processing and storage of agricultural products and raw materials.

      Topic:"development of a technology for the production of food products with high nutritional value and a long shelf life using nutrients and nanocarboxylates (trace elements)".

      From 01.02.2021 to 30.04.2021, Asyl Arman Herbs LLP carried out work on the topic "development of technology for enriching the composition of balms with biologically active substances". The head is Doctor of technical sciences, professor A. U. Shingisov.

      From October 2021, households will be performed."Asyl Arman Herbs "is working on the topic" development of technology for the production of liquid calcium enriched with vitamin D3 " in the amount of 560 thousand tenge, for a period of 2 months. The head is Doctor of technical sciences, professor A. U. Shingisov.

      under the guidance of Doctor of technical sciences, professor A. U. Shingisov, work on Applied Scientific Research in the field of agro-industrial complex for 2021-2023 is carried out under the budget program 267 "increasing the availability of knowledge and scientific research" 101 "program-targeted financing of scientific research and activities" subprogram 154 "payment for Research Services".

      In the 2022-2023 academic year, under the guidance of the head of the department, doctor of technical sciences, professor Shingisov A. U., on the basis of the contract "Asyl Arman Herbs" LLP, two topics of scientific and practical work were carried out.

      In the 2020-2021 academic year, a total of 14 acts were introduced into production and the educational process.

     PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department Utebaeva A. A. won the title of young scientist in 2022-2024.

      Doctor of technical sciences of the department A. U. Shingisov, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor.Professor B. M. Khamitova and doctoral student A. A. Kaisarova were awarded gold medals.

    In the 2021-2022 academic year, 193 students study at the Department of technology and safety of food products.

    Our achievements

      In recent years, the department has been steadily preparing a bachelor's degree in the specialty "technology of food products".The University of Kazakhstan occupies the 2nd place in the educational program and was awarded diplomas of II and III degrees in the specialty 5b072700-technology of food products at the Republican Olympiad of disciplines held between 2016 and 2021 among students of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

         Also,in the period from 2016 to 2021,our students at the Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan were awarded diplomas of II and III degrees at Republican competitions dedicated to student research work, and the authority of the department in education increased.

        Participation of students in conferences, competitions, Olympiads in other universities at the international level

 Students studying at the Department of technology and safety of food products of the Higher School of textile and Food Engineering took part in the Republican competition of scientific works of students with scientific supervisors and teachers.
