Training students of higher school of Light and Food Engineering in the 2015-2016 academic year in English
In 2008, in order to enhance students' language training it was increased the number of credits for learning a foreign language from 6 to 18 ECTS
Number of subjects taught in a foreign language increases.
For educational process staffing of 12 lecturers possessing Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate English language level are engaged in teaching in English. They completed English language course or have teaching experience in English as well as have English language basic higher education. To improve English level the lecturers go on their training in the University language development center.
The selection of students in special groups is conducted on the basis of test results conducted in the beginning of the school year, teachers of the department "Foreign language for technical specialties" and Linguistic Center. At present, the total number of students enrolled in English groups of 69 people or 20% of the contingent faculty; It is taught in English 48 courses, most of which are special.
Students of English groups demonstrate high educational rating. Practically all students have educational grants and pass exams with good and excellent marks. Most of students of English groups are engaged in research and participate yearly in student scientific conferences.
All disciplines taught in English are provided with educational-methodical complexes containing required information for student training. There are English textbooks in an Educational-information center for most general educational disciplines such as general and inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physics and higher mathematics, analytical and physical chemistry. There are English textbooks for some special disciplines as well. For complete methodical provision of all the disciplines the lecturers are permanently engaged in redaction of study guides and methodical instructions for all forms of classes.
The faculty lecturers have edited 25 types of training literature for the last three years, including study guides and lecture notes and methodical instructions.
